Hotel de Toren - Amsterdam

Developed from a design of interior designer Wim van de Oudeweetering of CasusCasa, Genesis has built a reception counter for Hotel de Toren. The top part of the reception is covered with a snake leather wallpaper. The “snake leather” counter was then coated with high gloss Epoxy to embellish and protect the wallpaper.  The Epoxy coating gives the leather a fancy look en emphasizes the lines and colors of the underlying snake leather. The hard coating also provides the counter with a scratch resistant protection, to ensure that even with the intensive use of the hotel reception, the stylish look will remain intact. The front side of the reception has been made of Magiflex. Also a part of the front side of the counter has been made of textile (lace) casted in Epoxy. To intensify the “lace” effect of the front a light has been placed behind this side of the counter.
